After graduating with a BSc (hons) degree, Ian’s extensive corporate career in the U.K. spanned both Hospitality and Retail industries. Ian held senior management roles in TGI Fridays, Beefeater, and Argos before joining Greene King, where he was the National Divisional Director.

At Greene King Ian ran 156 Restaurants (Hungry Horse), 7 hotels (Inn Lodge) and employed 4000 + permanent employees. The business generated Annual Turnover of $500 + Million. This was a full Executive position on the Greene King Pub Company board. Responsibilities included developing a pipeline of sites, including acquisitions, disposals and brand development. At Beefeater Ian ran 80 restaurants (Beefeater), 53 hotels (Premier Travel Inn) and employed 4800 + permanent employees. The business generated annual turnover of $330 + Million. This was a full Executive position on the Beefeater Restaurant board. During this time Ian lead a $30 million annual rejuvenation project, developing a pipeline of sites, including acquisitions, disposals and brand development. At Argos Ian ran 26 retail Stores with 1300 + permanent employees and annual turnover of $290 + Million.

For a decade before becoming a business broker, Ian owned and operated three businesses here in Australia. Ian set up three restaurants from scratch with a combined annual turnover of $6 million. During this time he also provided a consultancy service to various businesses around WA. The business employed 60 employees and 9 F/T Managers.

For over 5 years, Ian has successfully helped a number of Australian businesses in varied sectors achieve their goals. This includes business turnarounds, hostile takeovers of competitors and many significant business sales. Having held several board positions, Ian brings considerable strategic experience to the table while at the same time understanding the hands on challenges of running an SME in the Australian market.
